This historic area is part of the ancient Spanish trail that was used to connect trades between Los Angeles, California and Sante Fe, New Mexico. It was officially mapped by John C. Frémont and Kit Carson and they named it The Old Spanish Trail and was hundreds of miles long. This park preserves what is left of it.
